Often warm and sunny, but a bit of a mix ahead.

The general set-up is a fairly mobile one with the jetstream having picked up in the last couple of weeks, but high pressure will often pop up – as it is now, centred to our south-east.

So today will be pretty glorious, long spells of sunshine, a bit of cloud around though mostly high-level. Very warm, reaching around 26’C. Clouding over somewhat overnight, an outside chance of a light shower in the evening or first part of the night but otherwise dry, quite warm at around 16’C.

Monday starts bright with hazy sunshine. Cloud will thicken during the morning as a weak weather front crosses, bringing a few scattered showers for a time, though very hit and miss. Somewhat brighter again in the afternoon. Still warm, around 23’C. Cloud thickening again in the evening with some showery rain arriving around midnight, and continuing off and on through the night. Down to around 13’C.

Tuesday probably starts cloudy, perhaps a bit of showery rain around. It will quickly brighten up with sunny spells following, and a bit of fair-weather cloud. Breezy with temperatures around 20’C. Fairly clear skies overnight and a bit cooler, down to around 10’C.

For Wednesday we have an area of low pressure skirting down the North Sea, with a ridge of high pressure building from the west.

Generally a case of variable amounts of cloud and sunny spells – showers should remain to the east, but a small chance of one or two developing. A tad cooler, maybe only 19’C and quite windy. Reasonably clear skies overnight, down to around 9’C.

Thursday should start either sunny or with hazy sunshine. A weakening weather front will be trying to push in from the west, most likely it remains fair with hazy sunshine during the day, but some uncertainty on the weather front. Probably a little warmer, around 21’C. Probably cloudy with a bit of showery rain overnight – though uncertain.

Friday should see the next ridge of high pressure build to bring more warm sunshine – though maybe the overnight weather front is still to clear in the morning.

Next weekend is still a bit uncertain also. Saturday probably is warm/very warm with sunny spells or hazy sunshine.

There is however a low pressure system that looks like it will develop, so a small chance instead of a wet day, more probable it either develops further north and misses us, or rain doesn’t arrive from it until Saturday night or Sunday.

In rough percentages, 85% likely Saturday is very warm and sunny, 15% chance wet. Sunday roughly 50/50 as to whether it stays warm/dry/sunny or there is some rain at some point.

More dry, warm and sunny weather is expected after next weekend – but not for every day. And perhaps some chilly nights.

Enjoy the glorious Sunday! I fully intend on making the most of the sunshine whilst I can. That said, the pub I’m going to doesn’t have a beer garden, so…hmmm.
