Generally warm with sunny spells ahead, though a couple of weather fronts mixed in too.

The general set-up sees low pressure over the North Sea, clearing away, and the next ridge of high pressure building over the UK.

Wednesday starts sunny but on the cool side. Quite a lot of cloud will bubble up with more cloud than sun from around mid/late morning to mid-afternoon, and sunnier later. A small chance of a shower. Cooler than it has been, reaching around 18’C, maybe 19’C, in a north-westerly breeze. Fairly clear skies overnight, down to around 9’C.

Thursday starts with hazy sunshine. Generally similar through the morning and just about early afternoon though it will become gradually cloudier as a weather front pushes in from the west. Most likely staying dry, but the odd spot of light rain or a shower possible. 19’C and breezy. The weather front will cross in the evening and overnight, bringing a little bit of showery rain at times – not much. Clear skies by dawn. A mild night, 15’C.

Friday will see a mixture of sunny spells and cloudier periods – the sunshiner more likely in the afternoon, cloud more so around the middle part of the day, not so sure earlier in the day. A small chance of a shower but most likely dry, around 21’C. Mostly clear skies overnight, down to around 10’C.

Saturday sees a stronger build of high pressure across the southern half of Britain, though with a developing low close to our north too.

That developing low does bring a bit of uncertainty – most likely most of Saturday sees sunny spells, or at least hazy sunshine, warmer too at around 24’C. But there is a small chance that the low pressure is further south, and though we start dry and sunny, there would be some rain at some point in the afternoon.

Probably that weather front crosses overnight, bringing some outbreaks of heavy rain – though a mild night.

Sunday then also has the uncertainty of when the weather front clears – any time between dawn and midday on current projections. Once it does there should be increasing amounts of sunshine. Temperatures dependent on when the weather front clears, but broadly warm – somewhere between 20’C and 24’C.

Monday warm/very warm with sunny spells most likely – though cannot say I’m totally confident on that.

A weather front then crosses either Monday night or Tuesday morning – sunny spells follow, and still on the warm side.

Probably trending drier and sunnier after, likely still warm, occasionally very warm – though some chilly nights possible.

I’d rather not leave you with weekend uncertainty but not sure I’ll have time either tomorrow or Friday to update, so today was my only definite chance. Likewise I wanted to update on rain yesterday morning as it was clear it was going to last much longer than my previous forecast suggested – but work and life got in the way. Too much going on! Only 20 years until I retire and you can have daily forecasts.
