Well it’s just an ordinary Sunday, unless you are a Meta engineer fixing another major issue (hence the afternoon issuing of the forecast).
And our temperatures are back to normal for the time of year – though plenty more sunshine.
Thanks to Isabel for the photograph.
The general set-up sees high pressure now stationed to the west of the UK, which allows cooler, or at least less hot air to spread down from the north.

Sunday sees good sunny spells with some fair-weather cloud. Warm, reaching around 23’C or so. Mostly clear skies overnight and a cooler night – down to around 10’C.
Monday starts sunny, though the afternoon looks broadly cloudier. Warm, reaching around 23’C again. Quite a lot of cloud overnight though it will gradually break up, down to around 14’C.
Tuesday starts reasonably sunny, some cloud around. For lunchtime into early afternoon, likely more cloud than sun, though becoming sunnier by the end of the day again. Warmer, up to around 25’C, though some give and take depending on cloud amounts. Reasonably clear skies overnight, down to around 14’C.
The same kind of set-up into Wednesday with high pressure still to our west, decent sunny spells, some cloud at times and warmer, up to around 26’C or so. Mostly clear skies overnight, down to around 14’C.
More of the same for Thursday, sunny spells and some cloud at times – uncertain on cloud amounts at this stage but perhaps more cloud than sunshine overall. Still very warm, around 26’C or so. Mostly clear skies overnight, down to around 14’C.
By Friday high pressure is slipping further west, though still in control of our weather.

Again, sunny spells, some cloud (uncertain on how much) and roughly around 26’C.
Saturday should be more of the same, though some uncertainty with a weak weather front likely to cross overnight – perhaps it arrives earlier and it is a cloudier day (perhaps even some bits of rain!).
So the more likely outcome for Saturday night into Sunday sees a weather front cross at some point, bringing cloud and a bit of showery rain. This isn’t a done deal yet, but is the more likely outcome.
Assuming it happens, then the next week starts showery.
I don’t think this is a regime change as it stands, I think it more a blip in our long, hot summer. That said, I’m not 100% confident in that – we have before seen in previous summers if low pressure takes over in the second half of July then that can be locked in for a few weeks.
However, far more likely is that high pressure builds again from the middle beginning of August and we have 1 – 2, maybe 3 weeks more of very warm/hot and often sunny weather. Heck, maybe even right into September. There’s a reason I haven’t booked any holidays since May! Well, that and the bank balance.
Enjoy the continued summer and the less hot weather – and the World Cup final if you are watching. We are all Team España, right?
