Hello from Kotor in Montenegro – it’s a bit like a Norweigan fjord here, but in the Meditteranean. Quite stunning. Back in the UK, staying warm, but some wind and showers in the first part of the week.

We start with a ridge of high pressure, but two low pressure systems forming to our west will combine to push weather fronts across the country, and a short spell of much warmer air too.

Monday sees hazy sunshine all day, just about getting to 20’C. Cloudier overnight as a weather front pushes across from the south-east, slightly unusual, which will bring a bit of showery rain later in the night – the odd heavy burst, and an outside chance of some thunder/lightning. Mild, around 15’C.

Tuesday starts cloudy, perhaps still a shower. Gradually this clears north to leave good spells of sunshine, and becoming very warm and somewhat humid, reaching around 26’C. Also becoming breezy. One or two heavy showers around in the evening, very hit and miss but could be heavy/thundery if you do catch one, then mostly cloudy with rain arriving before dawn. Unusually warm overnight for late September, no lower than around 18’C.

Wednesday starts cloudy with outbreaks of rain. Sunny spells will follow from roughly around midday, give or take, just a small chance of a shower. Warm and still a bit humid, around 23’C – though becoming fresher later in the day. Often breezy. Clear skies for much of the night, though a chance of a heavy shower pushing in from the south-west later in the night. Down to around 13’C.

By Thursday it will be feeling fresher – still under the influence of the aforementioned large low pressure, but far to our north-west. Generally sunny spells, fair weather cloud, a chance of a shower and reaching around 19’C. Reasonably clear skies overnight, down to around 9’C.

By Friday, high pressure is building from the south-west again.

Generally it looks like sunny spells and variable cloud for Friday, with a chance of a shower or two. Reaching around 21’C.

Saturday is uncertain at this stage, it looks like there will be a weak weather front trapped under the high pressure, so a cloudier but fairly warm day is more likely, though a sunny day instead is very possible. Roughly around 20’C to 22’C most likely.

Sunday more likely on the sunnier side of things, though too early to be 100% confident. Roughly around 20’C or so.

Probably next week starts sunny and warm. October…still kind of summer.

Probably it is more changeable in the second half of October, and mostly we’ll lose the warmth but still often above-average temperatures. November is when the really unsettled weather looks most likely.
