Plenty more sunshine ahead and briefly hot midweek. Summer continues…I hope you enjoyed the teaspoon of rain yesterday (assuming it did rain where you are).
Thanks to Charley for the photograph.
The general picture sees the Azores high building in from the south-west again, which means more summer for us.

Monday starts mostly sunny. Cloud will bubble up and move across from the west – likely more cloud than sunshine through lunchtime, then more sunshine again later in the afternoon. Very warm, around 25’C. Reasonably clear skies overnight, down to around 16’C.
Tuesday will be a reasonably sunny day, though with some cloud around – more high/mid level so making it hazy at times. Hot, 29’C. Reasonably clear skies overnight, down to around 15’C.
Wednesday sees long spells of sunshine for much of the day, just a little bit of cloud floating around in the afternoon. Hot, reaching at least 32’C, perhaps close to 34’C. Mostly clear skies overnight and a fairly warm night – down to around 17’C.
The heat on Wednesday doesn’t last as a weak weather front will bring more in the way of cloud on Thursday, though still often bright with hazy sunshine. Perhaps a little rain will be squeezed out, but 50/50 chance at best. Still very warm and a bit humid too, around 26’C. Mostly clear skies overnight, down to around 11’C.
By Friday, high pressure is trying to nose in again, though there is an area of low pressure further west trundling along and stopping the Azores high fully taking control.

Friday then sees sunny spells and variable amounts of cloud – the sunshine likely hazy at times with some high cloud building too. Warm, around 23’C. Mostly clear skies overnight, down to around 12’C.
Saturday then sees sunshine all day, though probably a fair amount of high cloud around to make it of the hazy variety. Very warm, around 25’C, maybe 26’C..
Sunday again looks mostly sunny, and temperatures edging back up into the hot category – say 27’C to 30’C.
The more likely outcome for the week after actually sees low pressure head our way. It’s 7+ days away so plenty of uncertainty – before it arrives likely hotter and more humid, when it arrives then expect at least some showery rain.
When it arrives? Maybe Monday, maybe Tuesday, maybe Wednesday – too early.
In fact, we don’t know for sure it will arrive but it is the more likely outcome for next week.
After that, the more likely outcome is plenty more dry, sunny and very warm/hot conditions – which could easily last well into September.
Have a pleasant week.
